Citroen C1 2018 - genuine vs non-genuine air filters

Unread post by Lecit »

Hello,

The genuine air filters where I live cost 80 euros (for the cabinet filter and the engine air filter)
non-genuine would only cost about 15 euros for both

How important is it to use the genuine one?

I assume the engine air filter is more important to have the genuine, but still, how bad would a cheap non genuine air filter be?

Thanks

I never use filters from the car manufacturer because it's just rebranded with huge margin on it. Just don't use some cheap garbage and you will be fine. For example, I use MANN-FILTER on every car.

thank you! I saw that Bosch also have carbon activated filters so that also might be a good option, for the MANN I am not sure it has carbon:

Or it does?

No, Mann does not have carbon in it, but Bosch is usually a pretty good choice too. ;)
