Just wanted to check if there are any quirks in doing a battery charge in situ.
I'm so paranoid about the electronics of modern cars, you just never know these days.
The voltage is getting a bit below nominal on my battery so I wanted to start doing some longer top up charges over winter.
I was considering removing he battery to do some proper long recovery cycles, but after seeing how tricky it is to remove the damn thing, I'm thinking of leaving it in situ while I charge.
In addition, I've never sure of the problems that can arise of totally removing a modern car from a power source.
So, anything I should be wary of doing a charge in situ? I've read that I should not do a repair charge while still connected, so I'll stick to a slow and steady charge for a day or so.
In a side note, if i did ever remove the battery, are these "battery saver" type things that connect to the obd2 port to keep the electronics powered during a swap compatible? Is that what the garages use?
Again, paranoia of frying the electrics.
