Gearbox

Hi yet again im asking for advise, i have a gp 2014 mk2. Every time i brake my gearbox jumps into neutral. The clutch doesn't slip & gear change is smooth. I do have a very small oil leak on gear box but not found it yet. Would this be due to the leak or something else...many thanks in advance

How many miles has it done ? I had a Saab with a manual gearbox on about 150k miles and due to bearing wear it would jump out of gear. The gearbox also whined indicating bearing wear.

160k, i have no whining noise & generally the car runs well apart from when i touch the brakes it jumps into neutral even in manual mode

My guess would be there's an imbalance between the two sets of contacts in the brake pedal switch and /or the pressure sensor in the ABS computer - needs some diag time to have a look. Although this sort of error usually causes loads of warning lights to come on!

I do get a gearbox fault come up when ignition is switched on. I took it to a local so called citroen specialist & got told it the clutch but then had a friends mechanic drive it and he said gearbox not clutch. I dont have money to put it into citroen as im on disability

Going to buy a diagbox setup & see if i can sort this out + will be handy to have in future
