2008 dispatch 1.6 hdi wiring plug location

Unread post by Jaypenk »

Hi all, i have a 2008 dispatch van 1.6 hdi, I have recently replaced the engine and have got an error code for maf sensor. The van still starts and runs very well but I have found a plug by the fuse box and I can't find where it goes to🤔. I have attached a pic of the plug and just wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction has to where it goes lol. It has 3 black wires going into it which may be earth's which maybe my problem with the maf. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance

Not sure off hand, kind of looks like an alarm siren connector. I know its deffo not for the MAF.
You cant assume anything based on wire colours, You will probably find you main battery positive connection on the battery is also black.

It is possible that the connector is for something that is not fitted in your van (but might have been an optional extra). Rather than have a different loom for each variant of a vehicle most manufacturers have a couple of looms per model; one for the lower half of the spec range, with the other for the higher end vehicles. If you ignore the colours of the wires you will find codes at regular intervals along the length of the wires. This code can then help determine what the plug is for.
