I am aware that this is not quite a new topic however, previous U1218 error code answers were not relevant to my situation hence this plea for help.
My Peugeot 3008 2011 diesel semiautomatic has been driving alright but came up with a few error codes one after the other recently! First, I forgot the exact code but the mechanic replaced my right wheel abs sensor in early September 2023.
Right after, the same mechanic replaced Alternator Belt Tensioner & Rocker Cover Gasket around late September 2023. Another error code came up - P0272 - power loss on cylinder 4. Went to a different mechanic who diagnosed and replaced cylinder 4 injector sealant and that error code cleared.
All throughout though, U1218 has been there and still remains. Both mechanics thought after replacing ABS sensor and fixing injector sealant, this error should have cleared. But it hasn’t. Only trouble I’m facing is the Engine fault: repair needed message popping up on cold starts every time and then disappearing after switching off engine and starting it again. This is what diagnostic says —- Trouble codes U1218:
CAN bus/connection to body control module
AND Instrument Cluster Disturbed CAN Fault Disturbed COMMUNICATION.
Given the history, any idea what would resolve this?
