I have a 2012 C5 X7 1.6 6 speed piloted auto gearbox. The battery was low as not using the car very much so I had it on charge 2 days but now have a problem. I use a Ring Smart battery charger which I set for the AGM battery, 9months old from Citroen dealer, but only reaching 90% 12.7volts.
When driving in eco on it seems normal but when I come to a stop, traffic etc. the engine stops as usual but taking foot of the brake the engine doesn't restart. I have to shift into neutral and use the key to start. I can drive as normal by switching eco off but would like to sort this out if any one has any ideas I would appreciate it.
Thanks.
ECO mode stopping engine but not starting again

Re: ECO mode stopping engine but not starting again
No, and no fault lights. I just move back into neutral foot switch off, foot on brake and turnkey starts fine. If I switch eco off it drives as normal.
I don't know if this has any thing to do with the problem: I put the battery charger leads on the wrong way but with not switched on, heard a 'click' put them the right way and set the charger to AGM .This charger shows if the leads are fitted incorrectly so I didn't think it would harm the battery.

Odd that it will stop but not try and restart...you will need to get it on the computer and watch the live data to see if something is missing.

Ok, thanks. Will try but I've had no experience of live data capture on Diagbox. I'll try tomorrow and get back to you.

Re: ECO mode stopping engine but not starting again
Hi,
Sorry for the delay in replying.
I hooked up Diags but there were no faults relating to ECO mode or any relating to this fault. I decided to do correct shut down and start up.
After this it stopped the engine, coming to a halt (Eco mode), but didn't restart, not until I had drove for 10 mins or so, then it was as normal, start/stop/restart. It might have been the battery very low, even though I had charged it.
I drove 190 miles yesterday and no more problems. If it comes back I will take it back to the dealer to check the battery, 9 months for a £215 battery?

Re: ECO mode stopping engine but not starting again
EFB & AGM batteries dont seem to have as good a lifespan as a regular flooded battery but yes 9 months would be pretty poor.
