Hi all,
When out yesterday car was driving fine then is misfired or sudden jolt like a braking effect a few times before pulling into car park.
When came out shop car won't start, it turns over but won't fire. I have checked fuel and got fuel to engine and pressure so I'm thinking the coil pack may have packed up?
It also has new battery on it and all electrics were working OK so don't think that's the problem. Is it possible to get the part number for coil pack as I'm thinking citroen will charge a fortune from them but having looked there are lots of variants.
Many thanks
John

Get it diagnosed properly before throwing parts at it.
These coil packs dont normally cause a complete non start issue, normally just drops a cylinder or 2.
How did you confirm that fuel is getting into the engine?

Hi,
Yes I am going to get it diagnosed first as can't afford to be buying parts I don't need, and my brother had a look at it and said there was fuel in the injector rail fuel line. Sorry I'm not a mechanic so have no clue. I just know it has fuel in the tank and won't fire up.
It was strange as just gave a jolt while driving ( I don't know how best to describe it) like engine had stopped but then was fine, it did this 3 times before pulled in car park then when came out stop it wouldn't start. My brother came had a look and said he thinks coil pack my not be working but might be a relay or something that controls it? I don't know so thought price up coil pack in case but will be getting it diagnosed first.
Thanks
Joh

All that really means there is fuel in the rail, You still dont know if the injectors are opening & spraying fuel into the cylinder. A faulty crank sensor for example will cause both no spark at the coil & the injectors not to open. Without doing some proper checks first it would be complete guesswork.

Yeah thanks for the advice I will wait and see what the diagnostic says and go from there.
Always good to learn something, like the car so do my best to keep it on road.
