Engine size

Unread post by walter »

Could anyone shed any light on this on a service sheet for the van it says BERLINGO VU (K9)-DV5RE 55KW 1.5L DIESEL THEN THE VIN NUMBER i have noticed a manufacturer sticker on the side of the engine with various bar codes and long numbers and letters the only one i can make any sense of is the engine number by cross referencing with the log book but one number is DV5RD followed by 10 numbers (maybe a part number) if i cross reference that it comes out as a 102 PS (75 kW; 101 hp) not the same as the service sheet?? thanks for any help.

What exactly do you want to know? It's a 1.5 Diesel HDi. DV5RD is the engine model code.

Pop your VIN up if you are unsure. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.

BERLINGO VU (K9) SHORT WHEELBASE VAN H1 6 1.5 HDI 75 (DV5RE Euro 6.2) BVM5

So this is a DV5RE 55KW 1.5L DIESEL

This was what it was fitted with at factory. 55 KW is 75HP, so certainly not a 75 KW 102HP!

So something may not be right. Has the engine been replaced as the log book tallies with the VIN and the original engine type and power.

The original engine serial number is: 10 Q4DT 0033999. If the serial number is not the same, then the engine has been replaced.

If the engine has been replaced, then it should of had this notified and the log book updated after inspection (if required), otherwise the duty, emissions are all incorrect and you may have legal / selling issues later....

Unless the engine is correct and a wayward sticker has found its way onto the engine???
