Hi,
I have a 2017 plate Peugeot 3008, 1.2 Puretech, 36000 miles OTC.
I have a problem with it, and I was hoping someone cold guide me in the right direction....
When I unlock the car, the driver door unlocks. The other 3 doors do not unlock. However, the petrol cap and the boot do unlock.
I then have to lean over, and open the passenger door from the inside. Once this is done, the door will not shut at all. I don't mean it is not catching, or something is blocking the door shutting, I mean it's as if there is no locking mechanism present at all, the the door can merrily flap open and shut as it wishes! If I wanted to drive the vehicle, I would have to tie the doors shut with bungee cables for example....
When I drive the car in this state, the auto lock does not activate when pulling away as you would expect.
My local garage plugged the computer in, and found that when the doors were in an open position, the computer correctly changed it's reading to open, and then back closed when they were shut etc.
When the car was locked, the driver door would correctly show as locked, but when unlocked only the driver door would change it's status to unlocked, the other three doors would stay as locked.
So something is not letting them doors unlock....
Peugeot main dealer yesterday seem to think that changing the 3 door locks at £200 each plus labour is the way forward, but I cannot see how all three locks would do this at exactly the same time? Is that even possible?
When I mentioned to the mechanic yesterday about it possible being an electrical BCM problem, his reply was yes possibly, but lets try changing the locks first.... Yeah ok, i've got an experimental £1000 to try that with!
I am not a car person, I work in an office so not in a real good position to play with things myself! Does anybody have any help or advice with regards to this problem please?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Help!
You have probably tried this, but on some cars the locks can be set so one press on the remote unlocks just the driver's door and a second press unlocks the others.
On the passenger door once opened, with the door still open, try using a screwdriver against its latch to see if the latch closes around the screwdriver - this is what should happen when it is shut normally against the bar on the door pillar. If it does not close around the screwdriver then it suggests a lock fault.

Re: Help!
They are linked via the BSI, but the exact mechanism is unclear. There is no way that the passenger door should remain unlatched when it is closed, so that is the place to start replacing components.class wrote: 07 Dec 2023, 21:19 Are they all linked in some way then? Sorry if that's a dumb question!!

Re: Help!
These sort of faults can be difficult to identify but simple to fix. As for the Peugeot Dealers suggestion to replace all the locks, !! ridiculous, so stay well clear of them.
What you need is a “Peugeot Boffin” with the latest diagnostic tools, who knows how to use them and has a good understanding of wiring systems.
Like this guy, I’ve known him for years, as well as being a top Peugeot Master Technician he will tackle any make. He corrected two complex wiring faults on my Mercedes, that the Main Dealer could not.
