Citroen eC4 issue
Hey, I've been having an iintermittent issue wiith my eC4 for several months now and the dealers who sold the car to me in 2022 hve not been able to resolve it despite having had a look at it several times. The car on being started, will sometimes cycle through multiple error messages / codes before sometimes suggesting that a repaiir is needed, but allowing me, nevertheless, to drive off. Sometimes only a sigle error message will appear. Sometimes limp mode is actvated, sometimes not - it can be an absolute nightmare when it is as sometimes it results in us having to pull in and restart several times in order for it to deactivate again. Has anyone on here been having a similar issue? If so, was it resolved?

Re: Citroen eC4 issue
I'm sorry but
In order to provide some meaningful information, your vehicle will need to have a proper diagnostic with Diagbox or other professional level diagnostic tool to determine the faults and codes. Without these it is pure guesswork.
If this is a 2022 model then you will still have dealer warranty. I suggest you take it back and tell them about the warnings. It would be helpful to take a picture when safe to do so next time it happens and show this to the dealership. If it's an intermittent problem they may not be able to do anything until it becomes more permanent. However, they should be able to check the fault log in the BSI for the fault as these are generally logged.
Stick with the dealership whilst it is under warranty and don't have anyone else interfering with the vehicle or you may void your warranty.
is meaningless. You haven't said what specific messages you are getting and what warning lights if any.will sometimes cycle through multiple error messages / codes before sometimes suggesting that a repaiir is needed

Re: Citroen eC4 issue
What version of C4?
I had a B7, and some times it would not engage the gearbox. I worked out that if I got in the car, "Quickly", as in Unlock - Start - Move gear selector - Seat belt on, without giving the various computers time to wake up, it would fail to engage a gear.
To get things moving, I would have remove the key, lock and set the alarm, let the car go to sleep (all dash lights off) usually about 3 minutes. Then everything would be fine.......a bit of what my Mum used to call "being in too much of a dam fine hurry"

It's the latest electric eC4 Stu. He has warranty so should get it back to his dealer.

I was trying to show that he really needs to pay attention to what is happening/has just happened a moment before it errors, as you know intermittent problems are hard to find let alone fix.GiveMeABreak wrote: 30 Dec 2023, 16:04 It's the latest electric eC4 Stu. Give the dealer as much information as possible, no matter how irrelevant it seems, that way the mechanic may be able to repeat the sequence of events and get the same problems.

Re: Citroen eC4 issue
Hi, I had the very same issue this week, car randomly cycling through numerous errors, including hill start assist, ABS, traction control, electronic brake etc. initially it sorted itself after restart, but today the errors just stayed on. Managed to get it into a dealer, and they diagnosed a loose speed sensor or sensor wiring that was causing the problem, and resolved it within the hour. Apparently this is a known issue. Hope this helps!

What diagnostics work with these newer models? Diagbox still compatible?
