Xantia rear lights

Does anyone know of a way to improve the rear lights on a Xantia. It's a '94 2.0 LX but the rear lights have that cloudy appearance. I don't know if there's a way to get them back to looking more respectable or if I'm gonna need to get some new lights to improve my back end (if you pardon the expression).

I believe rubbing the insides with LHM works wonders...
