Can I use my XTools D7 to programme a second keyfob. I only have one?
If so, what do I need?

You will need the 4 digit security code. I have never used this tool but the chances are looking at the spec it can probably pull the code form the car as it is full CAN.

Would this be a key code that goes with the car? Not sure I got one of those.

It would originally been on a car that looks like the one below, you need to scratch off the panel to see it.
Your tool will likley be able to read this from the car though, make sure when reading the pin code if there is an option that you have a working key, dont select all keys are lost.
When reading the pin code your tester will likely get you to cycle the ignition on & off about 10 times. once you have the code keep a note of it.
