Re: Citroen C8 fluid help please.
The VIN is out. It should be max 17 alpha numeric and you have 18 - check the last 8.

Original fluid was Eolys 176, but this has since been replaced with Infineum F7995. So for your build date with this engine Infineum F7995 is recommended.

Would you be able to help with locating the rpo please. My mate has loaned us his laptop with diagbox on. He is away on holiday so cant really ask him where to find it. I checked the doorframe with the sticker which has the vin on. Unfortunately I can't find a number that seems to work in Lexia. I'm trying to tell the car it has had the eoly fluid refilled.

Re: Citroen C8 fluid help please.
There are a few bits of conflicting information from PSA in their documentation about additives.
From what i can gather Infineum F7995 Has been obsolete for several years now, Earlier bulletins say it was replacing 176 however i believe this is still available from the dealers.
The later bulletins have no mention of Infineum F7995 at all & suggest it was being replaced by Eolys EXTEND.
According to the latest bulletin this vehicle should take Eolys 176.

That's why I left it at Infineum F7995, as we know the modification notes state Infineum F7995 is the replacement for Eolys 176 when that runs out. But only later C8s with build dates from 12152 have the Powerflex.

Re: Citroen C8 fluid help please.
Would you be able to offer more advice please, we have a fault on the fuel cap now. I know this will cause an issue with the diesel additive so would like to fix sooner than later. We have checked the presence of the magnets so presume it is cable or sensor. Do you happen to know the part number/s I would need to replace?

Re: Citroen C8 fluid help please.
It shouldn't really affect the fuel additive function, as the engine ECU should still command the additive pump to function when it determines the new fuel level.

Re: Citroen C8 fluid help please.
Thanks would it affect in the future the reset of additive, when it needs to be done again?
Also as we would still like to replace it as it is annoying flashing up at start up, is it the same one for multiple Citroens and Peugeots like the C4 and C5 as it appears to be quite difficult to obtain for the C8/807

Re: Citroen C8 fluid help please.
The plug detection Harness itself is no longer available from Citroen, but you should check the actual cap to check the magnets are still there, but again having said this there are 2 variations - vehicles with and without a fuel cap presence sensor, so it's possible you may not have one.
The magnet (8) will line up with the sensor from the top end of the plug detection harness (7) when the cap is closed as shown above.
As this is only used to inform the Engine ECU that fuel may have been added, it is not crucial to the additive level or operation of the metering of the additive, as this is still done once the fuel level is checked to see if any additional fuel has been added.
It's one of the reasons why I think it was removed as it's not really required seeing as the fuel quantity is measured regardless, but the annoying thing will be the warning if still present.

Re: Citroen C8 fluid help please.
What vehicle is this fitted to Marc? I'm intrigued as to why it would be fitted if it makes no difference to the additive being used. I agree the ECU would still pump additive regardless. Is it a money making scheme to get vehicles in a garage and on diagnostics that isn't needed? Or could this of been practice for the now very common AdBlue?

Yes I ask the stupid questions, because normally it is that simple.
