I'm new here but not to cars, Reason im posting here (and mod's please do move this post if its in the wrong category) is my car isn't French, I think it identifies as british... or geman now?! :S haaaa
So I've a 2008 Mini Cooper D 1.6ltd HDI which i've now had for around 4 years. It's been great, Love the engine, it just works.
I found out very early on that the engine is indeed the same as the Renault, Pug and Citroen engine in alot of the well known car models.
I have had no end of issues with the injectos though, until i rebuild the top end with new injector seals, cooper washers and whilst i was at it, I did the glow plugs.
All has been well until the temp has dropped and now i'm getting a rough start process (often doesn't start first crank)
but when I pull away, It stalls. It does this for several miles (stalling 3-4 times at speed) until the engine is issume warm? I get all the lights on the dash including the DPF error (which i think is a sensor false positive from overfuelling on stall?)
Once its warm, it'll drive perfectly for the entire day!
Then next day, it's like ground hog day again.
I've scanned for codes, but given its a Mini, my codes are slightly different to the french codes. 003EC1 (camshaft position) but this is a new part now.
I've also changed the Fuel Pressure sensor, Camshaft Position Sensor, Fuel Filter, and a few more sensors.
Car passed its MOT 3 weeks ago, prior to the weather dropping in temp.
Does anyone have any idea's what/where i go next?
Any help would be super apprecaited, I'm stumped!
- Cheers, Dan.
