Error P0113

Unread post by leviackerman91 »

Hi all! My car is a CITROËN DS3 Hatchback 1.6 HDi 110 Diesel 112 CV / 82 kW 2009 - 2015 9HR (DV6C).

I'm getting the error p0113 via OBD scan. The main issue that i'm having is that the car display a wrong temperature (most of the time below 0) so the air that came out from the AC system is hot, even if i set the lowest temperature possible.

I've already changed the external temperature sensor located in the right mirror, and now i found out this error code.

Are the things related? I'd like to swap the faulty(?) piece with a new one like this one: https://www.auto-doc.it/topran/8209165, but i'm not sure when it is exactly located

You need to be sure this relates to the MAP, as this fault can also relate to the mass air flow sensor (MAF). It depends on the engine and engine management system you have. We'll need your VIN to determine which is correct. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.

Normally for the A/C system, it does rely on the exterior temperature sensor on the wing mirror to obtain the outside ambient temperature, so if you done this already, is the vehicle temperature on the display now reading the correct temperature?

There is no mention of the MAF or MAP having any effect on the A/C system though.

I'll post the VIN later. As for the temperature, no, it's not showing a correct reading. It works fine for like 30 minutes every 3-4 days, for the rest of the time it shows a temperature between +3 and -4 even if outside it's like 20-25 degrees

Then all the time you have this fault, you will also have the internal cabin temperature A/C fault. Focus on this as far as the internal heating goes. Either the sensor is a cheap version or faulty or there is a fault with the sensor wiring.

That's an '8' not a 'B' but I have it now...

More importantly, you have an outstanding after sales campaign for the Airbag. You need to book in with your Citroen agent and get the work done. It will be free of charge.
Fault Code: P0113
Description of Fault: Measurement of the air temperature at the air flow sensor: Short circuit to positive or open circuit: Temperature too low. Voltage higher than 4,9 V for 1 seconds.
Conditions for Fault to clear: Driving for 5 minutes
Downgrade Modes whilst Fault is active:
  • Closing of the EGR (exhaust gas recycling) valve
  • Reversible deactivation of the vehicle speed limiter
  • Reversible deactivation of the vehicle cruise control
  • Switching of the turbocharging pressure regulation to controlled mode
  • Sending of the information "torque uncertain" on the CAN network
  • For a gearbox with engine speed regulation (automatic gearbox or piloted manual gearbox), limitation of the torque sent to the gearbox
Symptoms:
  • Slightly higher fuel consumption
  • Smoke from the exhaust
  • Absence of automatic stopping of the internal combustion engine (If the vehicle has the Stop and Start system)
Suspect Areas:
  • Air temperature sensor at the air flowmeter
  • Electrical harness
  • Connectors
