C2 gearbox help

I have been trying to learn bits about the C2 VTS and want to change to a race spec linkage but I don't understand what the difference is between the MA and BE boxes as im still fairly new to all this. Can someone please explain the difference and which one I'm most likely to have?

I also have a question about what sounds almost like a grinding noise when decelerating, for example when going from 3k rpm down to 2k the noise is loudest at 2.5k. I have no idea what it is.

Additionally there's a flapping noise, almost sounds like a rattling can when reversing or going forward slowly, this one may be nothing but info is appreciated.
