Eolys fluid to low

Hi, I have message pop up in my Citroen c4 picasso 2014 1.6 hdi vtr+ with "Particle filter additive level too low:Have the vehicle repaired" I read about problem and want to solve it by myself to save some ££. Can someone tell me do I have tank reservoir or pouch and what type of eolys fluid I need to buy. My VIN is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] . And if I would like to reset ECU on my own what is the best version of diagbox and do I need only app or there is more more equipment needed for it.

1) You have a reservoir System
2) For your build date, you require Powerflex Additive.
3) You will need Diagbox (Software) and a VCI (Vehicle Communication Interface), the 'Hardware', plus of course a modern laptop to run it, preferably which supports virtualisation for Diagbox V9.** in case you get the VM version.

If you are not intending to undertake diagnostics regularly, it may actually be cheaper to get the dealer to refill it and reset the additive counter, as sometimes there can be problems with this operation using the clone interfaces on some engines.

I have a 2006 Peugeot 307 HDi 1.6L diesel and for a while now I have had the “Diesel Additive Level too low” warning displayed. I’m just wondering if anyone is able to advise me on how to refill and reset the system as I believe it is the cause of a massive power loss and fuel efficiency reduction. Hi

No the additive level will have no bearing at all on power loss. The additive tank's only function is to inject a metered amount of Eolys fluid into the the fuel tank according to the amount of diesel added. The additive provides assisted particle filter regeneration by reducing the exhaust gas temperature required for regeneration. Do not leave the additive pump to run dry and get damaged.

Your vehicle build date (RPO or DAM) is 10547, so would originally have been filled with Eolys 176. However that was replaced with Infineum F7995.

The additive tank is filled by gravity and should be located at the rear left wheel side, under the protective heatshield next to the exhaust. You will need a professional level diagnostic tool like PP2000 or Diagbox with VCI to reset the engine ECU additive counter to zero. However, your vehicle may have a separate additive ECU according to your build date, in which case the same operation applies.
