Getting oil analysis - what's the best method to extract oil from engine when not changing it?

I've bought an oil analysis kit from Millers and was wondering if anyone could reccomnded a method of extracting oil for a sample. The oil isn't due to be changed yet therefore won't be opening the sump plug. Is it best to go through dipstick tube or filler opening?

Big syringe and a long thin tube down the dipstick tube
