Faulty dispatch windscreen demister

Unread post by Peter Palmer »

I'm looking at buying a new van but the advert states that there isn't any air going to the windscreen. This is the new shape dispatch 2018 reg. What would be the likely fault with this as I see the never vans are electrically actuated.

thanks.

Hard to say without knowing what actual vehicle this is as there are multiple versions of control unit depending on whether it has automatic A/C or not - as to whether it has a manual cable system or electronic control.

I may be the reduction motor if automatic A/C or indeed the electronic unit. Is the air blowing everywhere else and on all speeds? A VIN would help to be honest.

Not too sure of the vin, its just an advert that I saw on auto trader, all I know is its a new shape dispatch enterprise with air con 2018, they have the electronic buttons for selecting where the air goes to as opposed to the earlier dispatch that had a rotary dial, I presume which pulled a cable to close various flaps.

I'm guessing though that if it was a simple fix then the seller would have fixed it before he put it up for sale, I'll bet its a dash out job to fix it.
