Xantia suspension knocking

Xantia suspension knocking

Hi Guys,
the front left corner of my Xantia is knocking and creaking, I've lifted it up and can't find any slack or creaking/knocking anywhere. Infact everything is VERY tight (I wish my CX was like that, it's balljoints and suspension bushes have HEAPS of slack).
Any ideas what this possibly could be (I hear everyone think droplinks) this is a possibility but I can't find any slack in them (and the boots are still intact).

Not just the drop links seizing like they do on BXs by any chance??

Did you have both wheels off the ground at the same time, if not you wont find slack in the drop links, each time any have gone daft on mine its allways been the bottom joint bolted to the roll bar.
