xantia air con thermostat

does anyone know how i change the aircon fan controlled thermistor that sits in the dash of a 97 1.9? the whirring noise is annoying and i suspect that the small motor is running dry.

Got a Haynes manual #3082? See page 12.23 photos 27.26a&b
Trying to pull the fan out on its own tends to destroy it, however you should be able to just prise the clock out and poke a finger round the fan without removing the whole ventilation housing.
Have you seen the price of that fan? Might be worth trying a shot of WD40 first.

Cut off the wires to the fan but leave the wires of the sensor alone. Tape the ends of the exposed wires. End of noise.

Just unplug the multiplug to it, its located behind the radio clipped to the left hand side inner dash, easy to get to.
