External temperature sensor

Post by evansad »

Does anyone know where I might find an external temperature sensor for peugeot 306? This sensor is located in the nearside door mirror and doesnt seem to be sold anywhere. Perhaps someone would be able to offer one on ebay?

Hi
You want a new sensor to replace a broken one or fit one in a car that never had one?
Tried a Peugeot or Citroen dealer or a scrap yard?
Its very rare for a sensor to fail.
Have a look under the passenger side mirror, spot a little black button sticking out, thats the sensor.

Thanks, I'll probrably try the scrap yard. The external temperature reading is always incorrect on mine. When the car starts up, it gives a sensible reading of around 20C and then after 5 minutes it shoots up to 60C.
Hopefully a replacement sensor will work....

Hi
Sounds like its got water in it some how, or has it moved as is touching the mirror & temp going up with the demisters?
Have a look at Later series 2 405s, Early 406s GLX & upwards & later series 2 nearly all specs had this feature on as well as the 306s.
Dont forget the Citroens as well, XM & Xantia spring to mind.
