"All our fork trucks are electric".
"We use the diesel in our fork trucks".
Certainly a different operation to the majority of scrapyards I have dug about in, although there were a few headed in that direction.

Re: Impressive.!
The old style scrappies all had to clean up their act when the rules changed, no more draining anti freeze into the ground or using a sledge hammer to get the lead out of lead-acid batteries, no more black oily mud or setting fire to the interior.
I think the comment re fork lifts was a slip of the tongue corrected when he repeated it, the diesel was used in the cranes all the fork lifts are electric.

Re: Impressive.!
Excellent find Gibbo, very impressive
watched the lot. The standard of cars arriving for the recycling process these days is a cut above the 70's when I first started mooching around scrapyards. Proper collection of rust buckets in those days.
All sorts of over-expensive repair jobs can render vehicles as uneconomic to repair, long before the metalwork turns to dust.
I'll put a link to this thread on the scrapyard and scrapyard purchases thread which has slipped down page 3 on my own active topics list.

Re: Impressive.!
Excellent video and a bit of an eye opener. I may well go there first for parts I may need in the future!!
