Buying a DS5 with problems.

Unread post by GavinPJ »

Would I be insane to buy this?
My head is screaming don't do it because it is an auto and a hydrid.
I think I could get it for €2000 and this is what is tempting me.

Avoid.

High mileage and a Hybrid - batteries for the hybrid are over £6500 alone without fitting. The ECU is part of the battery pack. The battery on this is at end of service life, without the other issues.

Cheers Marc,
I needed to hear it from someone else. I'll be watching the price of it though.

Dirt cheap for a reason I suspect. At 162K Miles, the DPF will need replacing very soon - but if you are still considering it, make sure that the DPF is actually there! Also get a scanner on it, because if you have a multitude of CAN faults (usually beginning with 'U'), then that will be electrical issues or boards (BSI / Engine ECU ESP ECU etc.) So just be wary and I note there is no info on insurance write offs shown.

It'd be 162k kilometres surely? Just over 100k miles. Still fairly high though.

Ah, did follow the link but didn't take in the kilometrage. Whoops.
