C4 2010 Electronic Hand Brake Switch Problem

Hi All

Thought it was too good to be true trouble free motoring for nearly a whole year.
Vin is in my signature but today leaving work went to release the parking brake and heard a crunch as i lifted the button and it came up with a fault message repair immediately.
Apart pressing a couple more times it released and drove it home. As soon as i switched off and removed the key the parking brake applied. I have managed to get it to release again by using the button but now i have an amber brake symbol on the dash and also the Red P flashing on the dash but the handbrake is not applied, i can move the car.
Waiting for my laptop to charge so i can get some codes but the button itself pushes back into the centre console and just does not feel connected as it should.

Any ideas if it could be the switch assembly that has given up and can it be easily replaced, get the feeling i will need some detailed instructions on how to remove the centre console assembly.

Will post any codes i get once the Diagbox laptop charges up.

It's probably the switch, have heard about them breaking on C4 Picassos although we've never had any trouble - widely available on e-bay apparently. Not sure how easy to replace on a C4....

Hi Richard,
Had to go down market on this as the price kindly posted from Citroen by Marc is a little steep @£95

Gone for This one so if it doesn't work not too much lost.
Laptop is reusing to charge properly so no Lexia Codes yet.
