I have a Xantia 94 2.0i 8v which has suddenly decided to run and tick over very roughly. At first I though the head gasket had blown, but on further investigation it appears that a loud chuffing and clatter is comminig from the fuel injection system, mainly around the plastic box on the front of the engine.
Not knowing an awful lot about injection can somebody tell me if this issue could be due to a faulty injector or fuel pump, or could it be that a noise created from the cylinder head (valves etc)is being transmitted down the air intake into the injection unit.
Help would be much appreciated.
