Hi,
I have been plagued by an annoying rattling noise which was exacerbated when driving on rough roads. On smooth motorways - no problem.
THE ANSWER? brake pads worn down and loose in the caliper, I would never have believed it!!!!
I figured it out when I did a list of when and where it occurred and found that a slight application of the brakes stopped the noise instantly.
