Central Locking 306 1.9D 1999 Hatchback

Unread post by mickeychips »

Hi all, I'm new to this and it has taken me a while to figure out how to post.

I have an old, but good nick, 1.9D Hatchback XAD and for the life of me I cannot find the central locking control box. Been under the back seats, no screws or plates to lift. Nothing under the front seats. Removed the fuse panel under the driving wheel; only fuses there. PLEASE, can someone advise. This is driving me bonkers. Living in the SW France has some benefits so I'm going to have another glass of bubbly while waiting.

I would imagine a late 306 uses a CPH unit, never removed one on a 306 that i can remember but a quick google search suggests it's under the panel where the hazzard light switch is

Mickey, why do you want to find the control box? What’s wrong?
The reason I ask is that the favourite central locking problem on 306’s is the wires in the loom from the door to the A post break up.
Just a thought.

Locks have brain of their own. I need to be able to lock the car, manually if necessary. She's old, but reliable except for the door problem. I read that I can cut the wires on the control box. Do you have a better idea. I don't want to add to the problem. Thanks.

Don’t start cutting wires, you may make matters worse.
The best idea would be to repair the broken wires ( if that is the problem? )

Open the driver’s door, unscrew the multi plug, then pull back the protection tube and inspect all the wires. Also the multi plug connections can go “green”. Back in my day Peugeot supplied a repair kit, I bet they are not available anymore??
