There’s a DREADFUL lag between 1st and second gears. 2-3 is a little less obvious, and so on up the gears, each one being generally a little less “laggy” than the one before.
The garage I purchased the car from recently is, I feel, trying to blind me with bullshit. Not helped by them changing what they’re saying each time.
I had my partner with me when I test drove and subsequently bought the car. It has a 12 month warranty, so I’ve got plenty of time to get this sorted. I’d specifically requested, at his suggestion, that they change the gearbox oil prior to me purchasing it. They didn’t. The sales guy assured us it was a “sealed for life” unit, so they couldn’t do anything to it.
Well, today, it had to go in for an adblue sensor error. Which they’ve reset, but not replaced. I asked them to check and fix the clutch at the same time.
When the sales man brought it back, he said there’s nothing wrong with the gearbox, that’s how they all are. He added that “if it got a lot worse, they could look at changing the oil … um, the same oil I was told just a couple of weeks ago couldn't be changed because the unit was sealed for life?!
The lag between 1&2 is so bad, that even leaving a good gap to pull out into, I’ve suddenly got another car on my bumper, and it’s still lagging!! It’s actually quite dangerous really.
Basically (after all that!
