Hello,
First the right brake light failed and then the left one too.
The centre brake light still works.
Permanent fault codes: A4BE and A4BF = short circuit on positive.
The bulbs are not defective - removed and checked for continuity.
How can I rectify this fault - where is the most likely location for this short circuit.
C5 X7//HDI 163//2014/ Orga 13609// VIN VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
Thank you for any information.
Greetings Wolfgang

Here's the diagram Wolfgang.
2635 Is the right rear tail lamps and 2630 is the left rear tail lamp.
Only a guess, but the dual brake switch (2120) may be a suspect.

I Got the same code today.
I have changes the led-lamp, make kabel fra the roof to the spoiler. When I test the connector I Got 12,5 volt without engine running.
What Cut be wrong?
I Almost give Up…

Broken BSI is a common culprit with these faults.
I have various repair handbooks and wiring diagrams for C5 mk1, Xantia, XM, Berlingo and C3 mk1.
I have Lexia/Diagbox (Sweden) and Servicebox/sedre
