Decoding these two engine plates

Unread post by Tipjar »

I'm buying a DS and the owner is including all the Citroen parts he's picked up over the years. They include two engines with transmissions. Since they were acquired from the salvaged vehicles of other Citroen club members in different provinces he can't remember which year or model they came out of. Can anyone tell me what year and model these motors went into based on the identification plates? One plate says S.A.A. Citroen DX2, 0571004029. The other plate says S.A.A. Citroen DV 3(?), 0652001276....By the way, this is in the Canadian/United States market.

Thank you.

I had some luck and found the answers by using an online translator to translate my search terms into French, and then using Google Chrome so I could see any pages from French sites translated into English.

It ends up the DX 2 is a DS21 from either 1966-1968 or 1969-1972, and the DV 3 is only for the 1972 D Special.

The pic is a chart from the site, I added some red outlines to show the DX 2 results. The site is here: https://www.nuancierds.fr/DT%20mine.htm

I think that you misread the chart. The DX2 is only 69-72, the DX is 66-68.

I think you're right. Thanks!
