Hi,
I recently purchased a C2 1.4i. As I got home and took a closer look at the engine, I realized there appears to be a leak on the lower left side (when looking at the engine bay) of the engine. There is no pool of oil forming underneath the car; it seems it's merely the engine that's soaked in oil. Pictures attached, although it was difficult to get a clear picture.
Runs great, no odd behaviour when idling. Oil looks fine. Regularly serviced and the head gasket was replaced in 2021. Spark plugs have also been recently replaced.
What could be causing this? Should I be very alarmed?

The picture isn't very clear but a classic cause of an oil leak at that spot on the TU3JP engines is the cylinder head gasket.
There is a "key hole" shaped metal insert that comes apart from the rest of the gasket. Also, the gasket is made of a fibrous material that doesn't seem to hold up.
Typically they fail around the 150000 Km mark.

The stock ones fail about 150000Km.
As far as aftermarket goes, I couldn't say. Guess it depends on the brand?

I have bought Elring gaskets and they do not have the key hole in metal. The gasket is all one piece.
As I said, the picture isn't clear and the head gasket was just a best guess. I didn't know how many miles the car had done.
Can you remove the wheel arch liner and get a better look? I'm really not sure what the photo is looking at...sorry.
I would spray the area with brake clean and get rid of all the oil residue. Then run the car for a day or two and see where the oil is seeping from.
