Citroen C5 Aircross

Unread post by Ceenine »

A family member has located a promising car at a distant Toyota dealership. The colour of the car is stated as silver grey. The photographs are not fantastic. I therefore need to know if it is platinum grey or steel grey. The v.i.n. is A45GYUKL0949861. It seems a strange number to me.

My only other query is, has the timing chain tensioner been ungraded by the 2020 year.

Thanks
Don

That VIN is not recognised (and not complete anyway as only 15 digits).

What engine is in it ref the timing chain question?

The v.I.n. should have “VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]” in front of it. The only motor used in this model in Australia is the 1.6litre petrol motor.

Please try VR7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] also. This was quoted in one sellers v.i.n. I understand that these vehicles are built in France.

Service box only actually needs the last 8 digits, I tried that with both a letter O and number 0 - but neither recognised...

Thanks Richard
My error, there is no 1 on the end, so last eight digits are KLO94986 or KL094986.

My only excuse is rushing again to get it to you during UK waking hours.

Marc
For the sake of clarity, there has been no upgrading of chain tensioners for the Prince 1.6 litre petrol engine since say 2014 and 2020. So the death rattle at a cold start remains a common and distinct possibility.

Neither Don! :-D

KCA - ARTENSE GREY PAINT

So the same as the vehicle in this video:

I've removed my earlier post in light of the VIN being available now and this being a Prince Engine (1.6 THP 16V 163 (EP6FDT M).

The only technical issue noted by Citroen on this vehicle is:

"Knocking noise on the timing side after the engine starts for the first time, no warning lamp lit"

There's no other issues recorded.
Please note, I'm no longer active on the Forum, so won't respond to messages.
