Hi all,
I have a 207 1.6 VTi (2007) which had an ECU failure.
I purchased a working "start kit" from a similar donor car except mine has an automatic gearbox.
I managed to change the computers in the BSI section (manual telecoding, I'm not sure of the English menus as I have a French version of Diagbox)
Then I need to change some parameters for the ECU, especially change the gearbox from manual to automatic.
But whatever parameter I try to change I get an error when I click on the cogs button.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
I'm using Diagbox 9.96
Thanks!

Re: Diagbox ECU telecoding error
If you are using Diagbox 9.** it will require online access to telecode (configure).
For this vehicle I suggest you use Diagbox 7 and update it to 7.58 and leave it there. You may have better success.

Re: Diagbox ECU telecoding error
It's the same with 7.57. I don't have 7.58.
Do you think it can be caused by a bad transponder on the Neiman? (I will get the good one tomorrow)

Re: Diagbox ECU telecoding error
7.57 is fine, it's just that 7.58 allows direct ECU access without having to do the Global Diagnostic, but either should allow offline telecoding.
Just make sure your WiFi hardware adaptor is switched ON, but any and all internet connections are removed and not set to automatically join, so that the unit cannot connect online - otherwise it may deactivate your clone. The Wifi Adaptor must remain switched on though as it uses the hardware ID for activation.

OK. Thanks for all that information!
"The Wifi Adaptor must remain switched on though as it uses the hardware ID for activation." => do you mean it uses the MAC address of the network adapter?

Re: Diagbox ECU telecoding error
Yes as part of the activation, so turning this off can deactivate Diagbox and can cause installation errors. It's fine to leave it on as long as all wireless networks have been disconnected and auto re-connect is turned off so it cannot connect to a wireless network.

Re: Diagbox ECU telecoding error
Hi,
As promised, here are some news.
I put my hands on the key sensor and plugged it.
I could then telecode the BSI and the ECU with either V.7.57 or V.9.96!
The engine starts. I had to go to the replacement of the valvetronic shaft sensor to make it run smoothly.
Many thanks to Marc for his help!
I still have some small problems that I'm going to post in separate threads, I guess it's better.
