Help!!! Something's wrong with my xantia suspension system.. It's a '96 1.8i non-hydractive... It usually sinks when the engine is switched off and rises back when switched on. The problem is that it's not rising again when switched on. I tried to depressurise the system, chose various adjustment level... they all seem to work well, except the normal suspension level setting. Putting load on the back of the car makes the rear suspension rise a little (as expected - this still works), but the rear wheels still seem to be sunk.
Driving the car is very weird and rough. I can feel bumps much more than ever before. The car seems unsteady. Can anyone suggest what's wrong with the car pls

Sounds like the usual plastic link problem. There is a plastic link in the height corrector mechanism for the rear suspension and eventually it falls off, often when the linkage gets a bit sticky.
