Hello I'm really hoping for some help here as I'm at my wits end with my 2010 1.6hdi berlingo, it's done 135k miles and has been well maintained, however back at the start of the year the car started to randomly cut out, and display on the screen that there was a problem with the emissions system, so I took it to the garage and had a new dpf fitted and the car would still cut out while driving (under load) but not when revving it in the garage, but doesn't display the emission system error anymore.
But if you plug it into the diagnostics it says theres a large fuel leak & fuel pressure too low. So after reading the many forums I came across the fuel pressure sensor problem so I had a new one ordered and fitted from citroen. And the problem remains, I then had the regulater changed and it's still the same, only thing left is the fuel pump (there's no lift pump in my car).
I'm prepared to have the fuel pump changed but I'm not having a timing kit done the same time as I'm inclined to scrap or break the car if the fuel pump doesn't fix the issue,
Does anyone know anything else I can try or have missed?
Any help would be appreciated and thanks.

Have you changed the fuel filter?

Re: Berlingo 1.6hdi fuel pressure low
It is worth bearing in mind that in order to replace the fuel pump the timing belt has to pretty much come off, and the whole timing/tensioning procedure carried out, a fresh cambelt at this point would not add much to the labour cost at all and will give peace of mind once you are rolling again, I was looking at buying a non running HDI vehicle recently, the best value fuel pump was a recon one off ebay for £150 or so, if it was warranted I would have gone for that. Good luck.
