If the vehicle does not start, the gear lever is jammed in position "p" and the sport and snow indicator lamps flash on the instrument panel, then it is likely that Fuse F2, in the passenger compartment fuse box has blown.

I suggest you check the condition of the harness though as you may have a wiring issue that may cause this to happen again once the fuse is replaced.

Thanx for reply Marc

The car does start and I can drive, the sport and snow lamps do not light up or flash, they work fine. The problem started a week ago, in the begining I could get it out of park mode by trying serveral times and pushing hard om the brake pedal, but yeasterday it would not I got out of the car and pushed it back and forth and then it got out of park mode, this I did twice, now I´m afraid this wont work so I now just put it in neutral and pulle the hand break tightly.

It is possible to manually disengage the Park lock on the gear lever, if you pull up the plastic trim around the base of the lever, you can use a thin screwdriver or blade to push the latch across. It is to the right of the gear lever.

Do the brake lights work correctly?

You should also hear a relay behind the dashboard click when you put your foot on the brake with the selector in Park. I think that this relay sometimes fails giving the symptoms that you describe. I am not sure where the relay is located on a LHD car, probably in the last row of relays in the fuse box under the dashboard.

Hello Folks

Update:

The problem was the switch (contact) that is located on (under) the brake pedal it self. We replaced it with a switch from a donor car, and this worked. So problem solved, I´m happy.

Thanks for the reply´s

Best regards
