Hello, guys,
I have a strange situation with my Citroen C4 1.6 HDi.
Namely, when the car is driven for a long time, for example more than two hours at a time, sometimes the error "ENGINE FAULT" pops up and SERVICE appears on the clock.
The car then continues to work normally, only the air conditioner stops cooling, possibly slightly losing throttle power.
As soon as I stop, I turn off the car and then start the car again, the error disappears and everything works normally again, i.e. the air conditioner mysteriously works again and works without any problems.
On one occasion after the fault started, I didn't turn off the car and I had a small obd with me that connects to the mobile phone, I connected it but he couldn't find the fault either, the cool thing I saw (since the Citroen c4 doesn't have a temperature gauge) is that engine temperature is about 80 degrees.
Has anyone encountered something similar and what could it be?
Thank you in advance!

The air con will not work if the engine is too hot or the outside temperature is too cold. You could do with a proper diagnostic to check all the temperatures when the engine is running to see if they are normal and if anything else is not right. Also make sure the engine fan works. 80°C is low for a hot engine if this is the coolant temperature, once warmed up it ought to be around 90 to 96°C and then the fan should start if it goes higher.
