Xantia front strut dust covers
Both the front strut dust covers on my Xantia Activa are pretty shot and in the process of total disintegration, rather like the ram dust cover I posted about recently. Searching around it seems that the original dust covers - part number 5271-92 are out of stock everywhere I've looked - both in France and the UK. However some alternative covers - with a different shape are listed as being suitable eg https://www.auto-doc.fr/pieces-detachee ... -2-0-turbo. Does anyone know where I might get the original covers or if these alternatives will fit??

Re: Xantia front strut dust covers
Although they look different Pete, they have to be worth a shot... It's so important to keep good gaiters on the struts or the pitons will soon become damaged and cause LHM leaks...
There were two slightly different sizes of gaiter- the top diameter - and I trust these will accommodate both...
Let us know how it goes

Re: Xantia front strut dust covers
Thanks Jim.
I have bitten the bullet and ordered a pair of the supposed alternative dust covers. We will see what they are like. The Activa is due it's Controle Technique next week, but interestingly, the gradually deteriorating dust covers have only been advisories for the last two CT's and I'm maybe pushing it for a third time. However the steering rack boots were also shot at the last CT and they only rated an advisory too! I have already replaced them, but think that would have been a definite fail for a UK MOT?
Will keep you posted
