Xantia HDi 109 Cambelt and Waterpump Kit

Unread post by Rhothgar »

Maybe I'm overthinking this...

Just got a Gates Cambelt and Waterpump kit off Ebay for a song. £45 including postage instead of £80 from Autodoc.

Box has DKIT-11118 as a reference on it and I cannot find that anywhere online.

Opened it up and noticed that the tensioner pulley is a Gates T41139 found here:-

as opposed to the T41140 here:-

which to all intents are purposes is exactly the same surface and dimensions as the correct one as specific as part of this kit with the correct reference number:-

Complete kit which shows a T42070 idler pulley - you can see all the part numbers a KP15524XS kit should have - but the supplied kit contains an INA affair (which I have yet to check dimensions on).

I really could do with changing the cambelt tomorrow as it really isn't good and Jim has already berated me AND verbally spanked me...

No coding on the waterpump other than a number which bears no correlation.

Having said that, engines are much of a muchness and most manufacturers are not going to redesign the wheel when a standard part already exists.

The forums thoughts, as ever, are greatly appreciated.

There is a difference in the first 2 pics you showed - namely the M8 bolt! One's 30 and the other 25. Any difference in 'a kit' which includes any included component parts, requires a different part number for the kit. Otherwise they would be paying a fortune in refunds and returns because the wrong size bolt was included.

I can't tell if there are other differences from the pictures, but that's one reason.
Please note, I'm no longer active on the Forum, so won't respond to messages.

Good spot Marc.

As it was missing the bolt, I didn’t bother to check as I’ll have to re-use existing. Maybe worth cleaning up and putting a dob of threadlock on it.
