I've had a worsening problem with crackling through both speakers and was advised that this was most likely to be a problem with the head unit an RD4 Radio/CD. The crackling is evident in both radio and CD modes so not it seems an aerial issue.
I bought a refurbished unit online hoping this would fix it and the problem remains.
Any ideas?

Re: Citroen Dispatch Van Mk2 Radio problems?
Strange one.
Firstly is the issue still there if you have the music on without the engine running?
If the issue is there with both the engine running & not running I would probably try isolating the speakers & their wiring one at a time to see if the fault goes away. Try seeing if you can remove the terminals from the quadlock connector that goes into the radio.

You must be psychic! :>)
I've just tried it without the engine running and just as bad. Will have a look at the quadlock connector....
Many thanks

Almost certainly a speaker problem so will ask here before starting a new thread!
Do the door speaker covers/grills *pop out or does the whole door trim have to be removed? I've tried levering with a screwdriver but no joy.
*I see on YouTube that some Citroens do, but can't find anything about the Dispatch.

Re: Citroen Dispatch Van Mk2 Radio problems?
I'm going to answer my own questions here in case anyone else has the same issues.
Dispatch Van Mk 2 2008 model.
1. It was the speakers. Blown to pieces by some Norwegian heavy metal, the outer ring of the cone all but disappeared!
2. The speaker grills are not removable and are formed as part of the door card.
3. Door Card Removal.
Lever off the cover for the side mirror control arm and the door handle pull. Lever out the electric window control panel on top of door armrest and disconnect.
Remove 2 x Torx screws from trailing edge of door card and 1x Torx screw on lower edge.
Remove 2 x bolt head screws from door handle aperture.
Finally, ease the door card away from the bottom and sides, releasing clip in studs as you go. (Some recommend using a special plastic tool but mine just popped out with a gentle pull)......and lift the card up and off. The top edge sort of hangs on the window ledge.
