Kenny what are you specifically wanting? The pad is not a single unit as far as electrical diags go, windows are one diagram, the mirror controls another - and just to be clear you are on about this control pad and not the control pad in the door for the seat memorisation??

Marc,
I will check exactly the error code for the door and put it on the thread. Hopefully this will make things clear.

Marc,

The error codes are F9D0 and F9D1 which refer to the wing mirrors offside and nearside saying short to earth or short to live.

But both are working and folding in when central locking is activated ie locking car.

Other error code CF00 for microphone open circuit.

I'm not worried about these codes but I am investigating some broken wiring found in the fusebox and engine ecu in the engine bay. As the box has been removed previously for an unknown problem. I can't see any wires cut on any of the connectors.

Right, that was easy enough - ignore faults F9D0 and F9D1 Kenny. From RPO No: 12047 (yours is 12296), the vehicle no longer has mirror glass position sensors, so that is why you will be getting those faults.

As for the microphone fault, do you have the bluetooth telephone kit or not? I can't see a hands free kit listed under your options but the part is shown on the diagram.

I know you have the independent telematics unit, which is separate, but can't say for sure if you have the Nomad Hands free kit. Here's the fault anway:
Fault Code: CF00
Description of Fault: Microphone input fault (Open circuit). When the portable unit is switched on, voltage equal to 0 V for 300 ms at the microphone input.
Conditions of activation of the diagnostics
The following conditions have to be met:
- Ignition switched on
- Apart from in economy mode
Conditions for Fault to clear: When the portable unit is switched on, voltage other than 0 V for 300 ms at the microphone input.
Downgrade Modes whilst Fault is active: -
Symptoms:
  • No retransmission of voice to the correspondent following an incoming or outgoing call
Suspect Areas:
  • Electrical harness between the following two components: Microphone /Nomad unit
  • Microphone
  • Nomad unit

The factory often leaves some spare wires with cut ends which run from the vicinity of the BSI to the vicinity of the ECU. So the cut wires you see are probably intentional.

If its 4 perfectly cut wires at each end then this is probably the case.

Marc, I certainly have bluetooth in the vehicle and it is working. I take it the Rd 4 wiring diagram is the same for RD45 unit which is fitted to my car.

Okay , the spare wiring, it doesn't seem tidy enough but the car is running fine. This wiring comes through to the box via the main internal harness, so I'm gonig to leave it at that otherwise I may disturb something and cause more problems. thanks for the reply Xantia V6.

No, I will only have put up factory fitted options Kenny, as per your VIN. I assume you've upgraded to RD5, in which case it will be different (I can't remember what everyone has done to their vehicles by way of upgrades as you can appreciate.) - but the diagram should still be relevant as you don't have the hands free kit installed, as RD45 would not require it.

Marc,

The RD45 was already fitted to the car when I bought it so I don't know what was original. I will have to check the list printed ages ago which shows all parts fitted at factory.

Re the loose wires I cannot see anywhere to suggest they have been cut so I assume they factory fitted as mentioned earlier.

I've already checked that Kenny from your VIN - it states RD4 only, but this may be the way Citroen report RD4 and RD45 on the spec. sheet as I haven't yet managed to find an X7 that lists 'RD45'. The Head Units under parts though are distinctly labelled as RD4 or RD45 and for you it shows an RD4 Head unit.

Okay and thanks Marc.

I'm weighing up my options whether to check the microphones or not as it appears I have 2 in the headliner.

Ok, I think I can explain that:

Microphone (1): You originally had an RD4 system - the original Microphone would of been there as part of the pre-wiring, in case the customer opted for the Hands Free Kit / USB Connecting Box options in aftersales.

Microphone (2): As we know somebody has installed the RD45 unit as an upgrade previously. As the wiring for the original Microphone gets lost into the loom and disappears, nobody really knows where that comes out. Therefore people doing the RD45 upgrade usually need a second microphone that they then wire directly into the back of the relevant RD45 connector block in order to work.

So that's likely why you have 2 microphones.

Thanks Marc,
I have the USB and 3.5mm jack input in the center console both of which work so not to bothered about the RD unit.
Will have a look in due course, I have a whining front offside bearing to contend with.
Will get back sometime with an update.
