ZX Heater Motor - desperate

Post by Alan White »

Getting desperate now - can anyone please tell me whether it is a dashboard out job to change the heater motor on a ZX? I think that I can see it from under the dash but need to know if it can be removed that way or if I have to take the lot out like when I changed the matrix? Thanks

hi,
in my old Aura TD, when i was fitting my alarm system behind the glove box the heater motor was very easy to get at. take the glove box out and you should be able to get at it from there

Yep, its easy to remove from under the dashboard (without removing the dash).
First check the resistor - if the fan is stiff it will probably blow the resistor. I had one where the new resistor worked it for a year, then failed - so the fan was probably stiff anyway!
