Hi everybody yesterday I couldn’t open the driver side door from the outside. The car unlocks all doors but doesn’t open the driver side but from inside I can open the door without any problem. I read that maybe lubricating the lock might be the issue.
I tried to lubricate the lock from the outside with no succes so I removed the door card which wasn’t easy and was able to remove the lock to the side without removing the cables that go to the handles and added more lube. This worked yesterday but today at first it didn’t open but after opening from inside it started working again.
I’m thinking of ordering a used lock from the wreckers but I need help, how do you remove the cable from the exterior door handle? Also am I right to assume the problem is with the lock?

2. REPAIR PROCEDURE
Replacing the faulty door lock(s).
2.1. Parts required
1 Front left door lock (Part No. depending on vehicle specification) (Depending on the result of the check ).
1 Front right door lock (Part No. depending on vehicle specification) (Depending on the result of the check ).
1 Rear left door lock (Part No. depending on vehicle specification) (Depending on the result of the check ).
1 Rear right door lock (Part No. depending on vehicle specification) (Depending on the result of the check ).
2.2. Reading the fault codes
ESSENTIAL : Follow the procedure for use of the diagnostic tool . The diagnosis carried out is relayed to the central servers if, and
only if, it is carried out in Internet connected mode, if the technician is authorised to use the guided methods and if the diagnosis is
started from the "FAULT FINDING" menu from the "Diagnostic" or "Expert" tab . At the end of the global test, wait for the
Diagnostics tab to start up (home screen with selection of methods by domain) . Quit the Diagnostics session, returning to the home tab
. Validate the message "Do you wish to quit the current session?"
Read the fault codes :
If there are no fault codes present : Carry out check 1
If fault codes are present : Do not apply this document ; Carry out in-depth fault finding

If at least one of the doors does not lock : Carry out repair
