Citroen saxo crankshaft pulley

Post by Jonathancilia »

Hi guys, recently i changed my timing belt and tensioners on my saxo1.5D and everything went well, and i tought while im in there i changed the crankshaft pulley aswell(harmonic balancer) because it was looking abit worn, but wasnt making any noises whatsoever. I installed a new bilstein part and went on my way, a few weeks later the pulley started making noises especially when cold, and with my eyes looking at it with the engine running i can see it "jumping" like its out of balance, is there any specific orientation that the pulley needs to be installed? I didnt check the position of the old one before removing, this could well be a defective part though, but its a febi bilstein so its not a cheap chinese part.

I don't think there is. Was the part you fitted (oe 0515L6) Febi 26924 (or 33787 same with 4 bolts)?
Are you sure of all torques were correct when assembling all back?

I installed the FEBI 33787 one and made sure it was nice and tight

Is it possible that any of the mating faces are not completely flat?
Either a bit of debris or bits left over from machining?

Not cheap unknown parts, good quality. Must be a fitment issue

Yeah i though of that, the surface seems clean and since the old one works good still, it must be good the surface or even the old one will have the same issue no?

Its really a simple part to install, just 4 bolts, engage 5th gear to avoid engine spinning and tighten, i think its a defective part to be honest
