Xantia Bits?

Post by chrishook »

<font size="2"><font size="4"><font face="Arial">Hi.I have a 96 Xantia 2.0SX.
Need a plip - mine has packed up dry joints perhaps? - but local dealer charges £80!! Any idea ? Secondhand ?
Also, need some aircom "bits" - pipe from compressor to the bit with the glass "hole" in it, near headlamp. Maybe other bits...
Anyone breaking a Xantia ? or know any good secondhand dealers ?
Finally, i have looked under the bonnet for a alarm on/off key. Can`t see one - my alarm has never worked since i owned car - the LED in dash hums and is 50% on - its red, but not bright. Any ideas?
Thanks.<font face="Arial"></font id="Arial"></font id="Arial"></font id="size4"></font id="size2">

On the early models the alarm could be deactivated the switch is under the bonnet, near the windscreen on the nearside (UK spec). You need the ignition key to turn it.

1. The alarm can only be set using the plip, and your plip is broken[;)]
2. Re: The LED hums... There is a tiny fan behind the alarm LED which draws air over a temperature sensor - this is feedback for your aircon AUTO temperature control.
