Hi everyone, I am looking for a picture of a Citroen C5 Aircross dash (or any similar Citroen) showing that the first service is due in over 12 months, so if yours says any number greater than 12, a picture showing this would be massively appreciated.
When I first got mine it said first service due '18 months/16,000 miles' which I followed. I am being accused of missing a service for it as I didn't get it serviced at 12 months. I tried to check on Citroen's own website and it says to check the handbook, which I checked but it tells you nothing. If I had a picture showing it was due in a time period over 12 months it would really help my argument!
Help, I need picture of Citroen dash

Re: Help, I need picture of Citroen dash
Hi
The service interval for later PSA cars over the last 3 years years has been reduced to annual now. The service interval is set using the maintenance programme set for the vehicle with the diagnostic tool and this is usually done at factory / pre-delivery.
It used to be 2 years or 12,5k to 20k miles depending on engine, but they changed this on modern vehicles with later engines. One reason being the later Euro 6 engines and the engine designs mean they run faster but are more compact and need servicing more frequently - especially the petrol EB2 engines - this is what I've been told.
They only loosened the policy during lockdown, as I had only done about 3k miles during the year, but my servicing is annual now regardless of mileage and I have to maintain the schedule for extended warranty.
One example is that my official Citroen service schedule for my C3 Aircross on the main website says 20k miles for systematic operation (regular servicing), yet the maintenance programme on the car is set for yearly! I queried this and they told me they set them for yearly now.....
My maintenance schedule has no mileages listed - they are all blank for the dealer to fill in. My last service this year in may was at 20,654 miles and was the third service! On the invoice it says carry out the 20k miles service. So there's something not quite right and are the dealers arbitrarily changing cars to 12 months to get additional servicing charges????
But back to your problem, as the servicing intervals are set by them, you can easily check when the next service is due as it should tell you pressing the check button briefly as to the servicing info. So if they have set it 'incorrectly' or did not set it to yearly, then that's not your fault, especially if your maintenance book, like mine is blank.
I can also if you like check what the service schedule states online for your vehicle if your provide the VIN - you can then use this to show them that even their own system shows the servicing interval (please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff).

Re: Help, I need picture of Citroen dash
Thanks for the reply, I remember thinking it was funny seeing 18 months on the dash as my previous car was a 3008 with the same puretech engine and it said 12 months. You don't have a link to anything official mentioning the two years? I just need something I can show the lease car company to argue my case. The hand book is very frustrating as it makes no mention of when it should be serviced!

Ok, so in your case it is stated as 16k miles or yearly on the schedule for normal conditions:

I think the 'gotcha' here is the xxx miles or '1 year'. mY servicing is 20k miles or 1 year - so I've effectively had 3 services in just over 20k miles!

Re: Help, I need picture of Citroen dash
Thanks for that, I wonder why my dash said 16,000miles/18 months? I can only hope someone else with a similar vehicle can post a picture showing over 12 month otherwise I'm going to be on the hook for a missed service charge
I'm assuming they have changed it from 18 to 12 because of all the problems with the wet belt in the Puretech engine?

Re: Help, I need picture of Citroen dash
That issue means they are required to check the condition of the timing belt at each service and replace it if necessary, which as you can see from the schedule is why the initial timing belt change is set at 65k miles, then when they have replaced with a new belt (possibly a later design) , they put it back to every 128k miles / 12 years.
As for the servicing, unless you have anything in writing confirming the 18 months, then they've got you there it seems.
