DPF Problem?

Unread post by darrenw »

Hi

I have a Citroen Spacetourer C4 - 2018 plate. Bought it last year from Cazoo with 28k miles on it. Has now done 39k. Here's a rundown:

1. A few weeks ago the engine light came on followed by "Engine Fault: Repair needed" followed by "Emissions fault".
2. Took it to a local garage who plugged the diagnostics in and came up with "a few things" but as they were really busy he just cleared the codes and told me to take it for a good run. All seemed fine and was for around three weeks when:
3. The same problem occured, this time accompanied by smoke from the exhaust (more than normal). Mechanics in Buxton are mad busy - I spoke to four who all said it sounds like a DPF block so it's taken until yesterday to get someone to look at it. This garage said it might be DPF but as the car wasn't losing power, they thought it was the Adblue injector (he showed me where the pipe meets the housing and it had a lot of white crystals around it). Short story, they replaced the adblue pipe and I collected the car this afternoon.
4. All was fine....for five miles. Until the same problem as (1) occured. So, I'm £300 lighter (as well as the adblue injector they fixed a minor oil leak) but still with the same problem.

I'm not sure if they can look at it again soon - I'm pretty despondant as was supposed to be taking the kids on holiday on the 24th :-(

Anyone else with a C4 Spacetourer had a similar problem? Any advice welcome!

Best,

Darren

Hard to tell what they actually did, apart from what you've said about them changing the injector. However, if they have changed that assembly, it must be programmed to tell the engine ECU that this has been done and initialised. So maybe you can confirm they did this.
