Hello,
i write to ask if someone can help me with an issue that i have with blower fan of my Citroen C4 cactus.
Is some weeks that the fan doesn't work. With and without A/C the fan not work also if i increase at maximum speed.
Reading forums i think problems could be three:
1)Burned fuse
2)Broken fan
3)Broken fan motor
1)About fuse i'm not able to understand which is the one to check, in attached the images of my fuses.
2)I not listen noise coming from the fan so in my opinion is not broken the plastic or the noise of running motor should be listen. Btw i'm trying to have a camera to go inside though filters and check the status. Scheme in attached.
3)if the motor is broken i would like to check plug with a tester but not able to understand where is located.
Can someone help me?
Thanks

If the motor fan works on ANY speed then it won't be the fuse.
It's more likely to be the Blower Motor Control Module (6) on the diagram.

Thanks for reply! The motor doesn't work completely. At low speed, high speed or with A/C on. I feel air only when driving car cause pressure of air on the outside filter.
I'm checking to buy endoscopic camera to have better view of inside. Btw without feeling air or noise from it, i think motor doesn't rotate... do you know which is the fuse that could be tested to check if is it? thanks

The blower motor won't work without the blower motor control module. These commonly fail. Sometimes it means the fan is on full speed and sometimes nothing at all.
I can't tell you the correct fuse for the blower motor unfortuantely.

Re: Blower fan Citroen C4 Cactus 2018 not work
Update for everyone, i find in another forum this post:
"I have a 2016 1.2 puretech and like many other members my fan suddenly stopped working. I was frustrated at not being able to find a fuse for the fan but having read other peoples stories I turned my attention to the resistor. Having removed it, i tested the unit as per an article on youtube and found no resistance across any terminals and no live feed to the multiplug. A local breaker had a spare unit from a working heater, this also showed no resistance using my multimeter. I plugged the spare one in and it still didnt work. Back to the drawing board, I tested every fuse to no avail.
As a last ditch attempt i took out the pollen filters from under the hood, from there you can see the fab blade, i pushed a peice of dowel into the vent and manged to turn the fan blade half a turn and back again. You guessed it ,the fan then worked , i put it on full blast expecting all sorts os debris to come out but nothing."
So with turned off car, i just remove filters and try to push the fan with my hand inserting my arm in the conduct. Fan was difficult to push but at the end it moves and i rotate one/two times. Then i turn on the car and the fan now works like new!

Re: Blower fan Citroen C4 Cactus 2018 not work
Ok, so what happens it that moisture gets into the bearings and causes them to seize up. The blower motor control unit is the resistor and is designed to power up the fan SLOWLY first of all and then gradually increase the speed to what you have selected. When the bearings get seized, there isn't enough power supplied by the variable resistor to start the motor off from standstill, so this is why it wont work.
What you have done is temporary, by helping it start off. But this will happen again over time, so be advised, but at least you have it working again for now.

Thanks, I'm thinking the same... next days i will try to clean and aspirate with vacuum inside the conduct and buy endoscope camera so maybe i can put little bit of WD40 on bearing if i can see and reach them...

Maybe a little silicon oil as WD40 can affect the plastics.

I would love to know how you managed to get your hand in to turn the blade??? Did you remove anything else other than the 2 Pollen filters?warmup wrote: ↑11 Jul 2023, 20:31Update for everyone, i find in another forum this post:
