Peugeot 308CC THP Engine box F5 fuse

Unread post by horstefan »

Hi All

After owning my beloved 308CC THP 1.6l 2010 for 2 years im running into a strange issue
Early this year the engine box f5 fuse was blown. the temperature gauge turned to max but the car kept running fine.

The fuse was replaced by the dealer and there was no further issues until a few months later. the same thing happened and i replaced the fuse myself.
Again great news. the car was good and no issues untill yesterday

The fuse blown again and now the malfunction is ready to be found... but where
I found a description stating the equipment fed from this fuse:
-Canister purge,
-turbine discharge and Turbo pressure regulation electrovalves (1.6 l THP 16V),
-oil vapour heater (1.6 l THP 16V)

Can someone please tell me where these canister, valves and heater are located on the engine?
from there i can disconnect one by one and find the faulty one.

The cannister purge valve is tucked under the inlet manifold and not easy to reach, maybe you can see it if you remove the battery, but I partially removed the manifold.

The turbo regulation valve is lower down on the rear of the engine and I replaced it from below, by removing the link section of the exhaust pipe.

The oil vapour heater is right in your face... It is the thing at the end of the breather hose that goes from the engine top cover to the turbo intake pipe.

Start with the easy one, but it could also be blowing the fuse due to a chafed wiring harness.

Thank you so much xanthia_v6!
After disconnecting all of these the short is still present. Are you able to share electrical diagrams?
We are doubting between your suggestion about a chafed harness or an ECU failure.

I am travelling at present and don't have easy access to wiring diagrams. Someone else with access to PSA data should be able to help.

This is the injection system.

The cannister discharge electrovalve is 1215:
